A new seat with improvements made to the suspension, height control and cover material are being installed in production and are also available for Parts Service and retrofit.

The new suspension base includes improvements in the moving members combined with the addition of a second shock absorber to better dampen the bouncing action when the machine is operating on rough surfaces.

The new static mount uses the same height adjuster that is used with the suspension seat. Movement of a lever allows the operator the choice of five different positions [76.2mm (3.00") of travel]. The seat bottom used with the static mounting, either vinyl or cloth, has more material (a higher profile) for a better ride.

The earlier static mounts, that are bolted in place, can be replaced by the new mechanical height adjuster. The new vinyl or cloth seat group, or cushion assemblies can be installed on an existing suspension or static base.

NOTE: When servicing a seat, it is much easier to first remove the seat group from the suspension or static base. Then, remove the base from the mounting location in the cab. Install in a reverse manner.

The following lists and illustrations identify the components for the static and suspension seat groups that are adaptable to earlier machines.

NOTE: The cushion assemblies are part of the seat group.
