The power train oil filters (2) and (4) are mounted on the right side of the machine frame under the platform.
The externally mounted oil filters have bypass valves. If there is a restriction in the oil filter or if the oil viscosity is high, the bypass valve will open. The full flow filter bypass is located in bypass manifold (1) with the oil cooler bypass.
If the inlet pressure to the oil filter is
Correct maintenance recommendations must be followed in order to ensure that the element does not fill with debris. If the element is full of debris, the flow of clean oil to the hydraulic system stops.
Both filters are equipped with a filter bypass switch (5) that send a signal to the Power Train ECM. The Power Train ECM then sends that information to the message display. The message display shows a warning when the transmission oil filter needs to be serviced.
