Check oil level before starting engine and when refueling. Check with the engine stopped. Add oil if required. The dipstick has 2 marks and the distance between them represents 3 quarts.

Diesel Engine Crankcase Oil Change and Lubricating Oil Filter Change

Remove filler cap and drain plug. Drain the crankcase while engine is warm and stopped.

Change filters. Unscrew and remove oil filters (right hand thread). Be sure to remove old filter gaskets. Put a thin coat of clean engine oil on new filter gasket. Install new filter. Tighten filters by hand until gasket contacts base, then tighten 1/2 turn more. Clean and install drain plug.

Fill crankcase, 12 qts. (11,5 ltr.) plus additional oil for auxiliary filter if so equipped. Start engine and check for oil leaks at drain plug and filter housing. Stop engine and check oil level.
