PROBLEM
The existing design of the powertrain lube circuit may cause oil to accumulate in the transmission sump on certain D6T Track-Type Tractors and PL72 Pipelayers. This can result in more oil than normal draining out of the case when the PTO cover is removed, and in rare cases, may cause problems with torque converter calibration. |

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
1. Disconnect the right side track and remove the right side final drive in order to access the tube that will be updated as a part of this rework process. The tube is inside the PTO case. For D6T Track-Type Tractors, refer to Disassembly and Assembly - D6T Track-Type Tractor Power Train - Media Number M0073303. For PL72 Pipelayers, refer to Disassembly and Assembly - PL72 Pipelayers Power Train - Media Number UENR4131. |
2. There is a hole in the PTO lubrication tube inside the case. This hole may inadvertently spray an excessive amount of oil into the transmission sump, resulting in the issues described earlier in this letter. The location of the hole and the path of the oil are shown with a dashed line in Image 1.2.1 below. |

3. Install Clip A, using Bolt B, Washers C, Spacer D, and Nut E as shown in Image 1.3.1. Ensure that Clip A blocks the spray of oil from the hole marked with an arrow shown in Image 1.3.2. Tighten Nut E to a torque of 41 ft lbs (55 Nm). |
