Refer to Image1 to identify the location of the porosity in the head. If cylinder leaks from the cylinder head, as shown in Image1, photograph the cylinder head showing the leak and attach it to the warranty claim. Refer to KENR8727 (795F), RENR2588 (797B), and KENR8382 (797F), Disassembly and Assembly, to remove and install the cylinder and replace the head. Please complete the following steps when repairing the cylinder: Parts to reuse: Piston and piston seals, sensor (if present), rod, remaining parts in cylinder assembly. Parts NOT to reuse: Head, parts assembled in the head (seals, backup ring, bearing), cylinder head bolts, washers, and piston nut. 1. Remove the cylinder head bolts and washers. Carefully pull the rod assembly out of the cylinder assembly to prevent damaging a position sensor, if present. Remove the cylinder head bolts and washers. The cylinder head bolts and washers will not be reused. Set the cylinder assembly aside. 2. Remove the piston nut. Set aside the piston with seals and rod for reuse during assembly. Photograph the cylinder head to capture the date code of the head (Image1 and Image 2). Scrap the piston nut. 3. Install new seals, backup ring, and new bearing into the new cylinder head. Install the new cylinder head with seals onto the rod. Assemble the piston on the rod. Tighten the new nut to complete the rod assembly. 4. Install the rod assembly into cylinder assembly with care if a position sensor is present. Install and tighten new cylinder head bolts with washers to complete the cylinder group. |
