INTRODUCING NEW CAT 256-4968 DIESEL FUEL CONDITIONER
Introduction
A new diesel fuel conditioner,
specified for and by Caterpillar, is now available.
In order to address customer requests linked to differences in fuel quality found throughout the world, Caterpillar has responded with a cost effective, multi-purpose Diesel Fuel Conditioner. It incorporates a much more robust level of chemistry and performance not found in other products of its type.
Available April 4, 2005, in NACD, with world-wide distribution later in the year, the new Diesel Fuel Conditioner, part number 256-4968, includes a number of performance enhancing features.
Features |
Benefits |
Results |
Lubricity |
Compensates for reduced lubricity found in some low sulfur diesel fuels. |
Protects fuel pumps and injectors from wear and scuffing. |
Detergency |
Helps maintain correct injector spray pattern. |
Improves combustion efficiency.
|
Fuel Stability |
Reduces the formation of gums, sludge and deposits that can block fuel filters. |
Dramatically improves fuel storage stability. Disperses insoluble gums. |
Cetane Improvement |
Easier starting, especially at low temperatures. Helps to reduce white smoke. |
Improved combustion for smoother operation. |
Water Handling |
Helps keep moisture dispersed in the fuel as tiny drops to be eliminated during the combustion process |
Helps to eliminate component damage caused by water in fuel. |
Corrosion Protection |
Helps to protect fuel systems against rust and corrosion. |
Improves fuel system life. |
Use of the convenient tip (measure) and pour container allows accurate dilution in all sizes of equipment. 1 ounce of Caterpillar Diesel Fuel Conditioner treats 11 gallons of diesel fuel (one 32-ounce container will treat 350 gallons of diesel fuel). The conditioner comes in a case of six 32-ounce containers. As sulfur restrictions become more stringent, Caterpillar? Diesel Fuel Conditioner will help compensate for reduced lubricity found in some low sulfur diesel fuels. It will also improve combustion, fuel storage stability, and fuel system life.
