NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0578" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
NOTE: This Revised Service Letter replaces the March 1, 1992 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product, Parts Needed, and Service Claim Allowances.

Track roller groups on certain 215D, 219D, 225D, 227, 229D, 231D, and 235C Hydraulic Excavators may have incorrect surface finish on roller shafts. Operation of excavators with these rollers can result in scoring of the roller bearing that leads to loss of lubricant and subsequent roller failure. This also applies to any 8E4573, 8E4576, or 8E4579 Track Roller Group that has been installed as a parts replacement.

- 16 - 8E4573 Roller Group (For 219D and 225D)
Action Required
If a track roller fails due to oil leakage, all track rollers may be removed and replaced with new roller groups.
Any 8E4573, 8E4576, 8E4579, or 8E7494 Track Roller Group that has been installed as a parts replacement can also be replaced.
Service Claim Allowances
NOTE: If there has been a previous replacement of 8E4573, 8E4576, 8E4579, or 8E7494 Track Roller Groups in which the customer participated, part age will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.
