Problem

The filter base for the conveyor pump charge filter needs to be inspected for
proper installation on certain AP-800B Pavers. If the filter base is not
installed properly, the installation needs to be corrected.

Action Required

Inspect the orientation of the filter base for the conveyor pump charge
filter. The inlet and outlet ports of the filter
base should be as shown in the Illustrations. If the inlet and outlet ports
are switched, disconnect the hoses, remove the mounting screws, and rotate
the base 180 deg. Install the mounting screws, align the elbows, and connect
the hoses to the proper ports as shown in the Illustrations.

Install the new 8T7478 Element after the orientation of the filter base has
been corrected.

be done at no cost to you.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately and schedule a time to have
this service performed. The repair time for this service is approximately 1
1/2 hours. Please refer to the April 20, 1991 Service Letter when scheduling
the service.
