Leveling Blade Control Valve

Usage:

Remove & Install Leveling Blade Control Valve

1. Start the machine and lower the leveling blade assembly to the ground. Engage the parking brake and connect the steering frame lock pin.

------ WARNING! ------

At operating pressure, the oil in the hydraulic tank and the hydraulic system is hot and under pressure. Hot hydraulic oil can cause severe burns. Prior to disconnecting any hydraulic lines, release the pressure in the hydraulic system and the hydraulic tank. Move the hydraulic control levers to all positions to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic tank only when it is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to release the pressure in the hydraulic tank.

--------WARNING!------

2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system and the hydraulic tank.

Typical Example

3. Put marks of identification on the hydraulic hoses as to their location for assembly purposes.

4. Disconnect and plug hoses (1), (2), (3) and (4). Check the O-ring seals in the ends of the fittings in the control valve for wear or damage. Replace as required.

Typical Example

5. Disconnect the control linkage from the control valve. Remove cotter pin (5) and washer (6).

6. Remove three bolts (7) and blade leveling control valve (8).

NOTE: Install the blade leveling control valve in reverse order.

7. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. See the "Operation & Maintenance Manual".

Disassemble & Assemble Leveling Blade Control Valve

Start By:

a. remove leveling blade control valve

1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the control valve prior to disassembly to prevent contamination of the valve.

2. Remove four fittings (1) and the O-ring seals from the valve body. Note that one of the fittings is a 90°elbow. Check the O-ring seals for wear or damage. Replace as required.

3. Remove pin (3) and lever (2).

4. Remove two caps (8), two springs (7) and two steel balls (6) from float detent (4).

5. Remove the two cap screws and float detent (4).

NOTICE

Remove the spool assembly by the spring end to prevent damage to valve spool assembly (10). Pull the notched end of the spool assembly through the valve body.

6. Remove valve spool assembly (10). Remove relief valve (15), gasket (14), spring (13), ball retainer (12) and steel ball (11).

7. Remove O-ring seals (5) and (9). Check the seals for wear or damage. Replace as required.

8. To disassemble the relief valve, loosen jam nut (17). Remove adjustment screw (16), gasket (18) and relief cap (19).

9. Be sure all internal parts of the leveling blade control valve are clean. Coat all parts with clean hydraulic oil.

NOTE: Assemble the leveling blade control valve in reverse order.

10. After installing the leveling blade control valve, adjust the "Relief Control Setting" and the "Float Adjustment Setting". See the "Testing & Adjusting Manual".

End By:

a. install leveling blade control valve
