Introduction

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information. This Special Instruction covers the replacement of the clamping assemblies for the coolant tube assemblies for certain 3524 engines.

Required Parts

Table 1 contains the tube assembly part numbers.

Note: The tube assemblies listed in Service Magazine, M0066158, New Coolant Lines Are Now Used For Certain 797B Off-Highway Trucks are not compatible with this Special Instruction. The tube assemblies list in that Service Magazine will not work with the clamp assemblies listed below.

Table 2 contains the replacement parts for the 136-3264 Tube.

Table 3 contains the replacement parts for the 163-6355 Tube As.

Table 4 contains the replacement parts for the 136-3268 Tube.

Table 5 contains the replacement parts for the 153-6586 Tube As.

Table 6 contains the replacement parts for the 162-2685 Tube.

Table 7 contains the replacement parts for the 192-7393 Tube.

Table 8 contains the replacement parts for the 162-2686 Tube.

Table 9 contains the replacement parts for the 162-2695 Tube.

Table 10 contains the replacement parts for the 174-9354 Tube.

Table 11 contains the replacement parts for the 186-4185 Tube.

1. Remove tube assembly (1) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 2 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

2. Remove tube assembly (2) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 3 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

3. Remove tube assembly (3) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 4 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

4. Remove tube assembly (4) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 5 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

5. Remove tube assembly (5) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 6 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

6. Remove tube assembly (6) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 7 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

7. Remove tube assembly (7) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 8 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

8. Remove tube assembly (8) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 9 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

9. Remove tube assembly (9) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 10 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.

10. Remove tube assembly (10) and the associated hardware. Replace the previous hardware using the parts listed in Table 11 and install the tube assembly back onto the engine.
