Usage:
D379, D398 And D399 Industrial, And Marine Engines
Description of Change: A check valve is now used in the hydramechanical shut-off for D379, D398 and D399 Industrial and Marine Engines. The check valve and necessary hardware are used in the engine oil shut-off lines group. Also, an adapter has been added, and a tee and connector have been removed from the operation indication gauge group.
Location of the new parts in the engine oil shut-off lines group.
The check valve will prevent a decrease in oil pressure through leakage in the rack shut-off circuit after the shut-off cylinder is activated.
Without the check valve, it is some times possible for the oil pressure in the rack shut-off circuit to decrease through leakage if the oil is hot and thin. If the pressure decreases to less than 210 kPa (30 psi), the shut-off will no longer be activated, and the engine will not shut down. To shut off the engine, pull the red knob on the hydramechanical shut-off on the engine.
Adaptable To: The new parts, shown in the charts, are adaptable to all D379, D398 and D399 Industrial and Marine Engines equipped with a hydramechanical shut-off.
