Quick Start Wiring Guide for Dynamic Gas Blending Well Service Engines{1000, 1408, 1900, 1901, 7610, 7620}

Usage:

3512C R1A
Petroleum Engine:
3512C (S/N: R1A1-UP; R1S1-UP)
Pumper:
SPF343C (S/N: RTX1-UP)

Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the procedure in order to verify the Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB) capability is operating correctly.

Note: During this procedure the engine is isolated from the customer connection.

Wiring the Engine

(1) Customer connector

  1. Check for 24V at pins 1 and 2 of the 40 pin customer connector.

  1. Check for ground at pins 34 and 35 of the 40 pin customer connector.

  1. Run a jumper wire from pin 23 to pin 34.

  1. Run a jumper wire from pin 24 to pin 35.

  1. Set the "Engine State Control Input Configuration" to "Hardwired Input" in Cat Electronic Technician (ET).

  1. Cycle the power off and back on after changing the "Engine State Control Input Configuration" parameter.

    Note: The "Desired Speed Input Configuration " on the default CAN data link will stay at low idle speed with no speed control hooked up.

  1. Connect a jumper wire from pin 10 to the "S" terminal of the electrical converter gp.

  1. Connect a jumper wire from pin 1 or pin 2 to the "Battery +" terminal of the electrical converter gp.

  1. Connect a jumper wire pin 34 or pin 35 to the "Battery -" terminal of the electrical converter gp.

  1. Change the "Desired Speed Input Configuration" parameter to the PWM with Cat ET.

  1. Cycle the power off and back on after changing the "Desired Speed Input Configuration" parameter.
