Engine News, SEBD9882, 17 July 2013, "New Software is Used on Certain 3516C and 3516C HD Generator Set Engines {1920} SMCS - 1920". Disregard the previous article. The article that follows has been updated to reflect the new software update improvements.

Description of Change: The new engine and aftertreatment software provides updates to improve the operation of the 3516C and 3516C HD Generator Aftertreatment System. The update also improves the functionality of the fuel correction factor.

Adaptable To: The new software part numbers listed in Table 1 are adaptable back to first production of the serial numbers listed above. The new software provides the following improvements:

• A new strategy for high CEM intake gas temperature derates

• A new strategy for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dosing that allows the DEF conversion to be more efficient as the CEM accumulates hours

• Improved functionality of the fuel correction factor
