Based on excellent dealer feedback, Caterpillar is making improvements to the 3412 Bundled Repair Foundational Top End and Major Kits.

Refer to Table 1 for a list of effective serial numbers.

Improvement: Caterpillar has removed from the Bundled Repair Major Foundational Kits the following parts:

• Exhaust manifold spacers

• Single fuel injector gasket kits

• Single cylinder liner gasket kit

• Standard rod bearings

• Injector sleeves

• Clamps

BENEFITS

• Increase flexibility, better pricing of the Foundational Kit

• Error avoidance such as: wrong size bearings, duplicated seals if Reman Packs are ordered and duplicated exhaust manifold sleeves if the sleeves can be reused

IMPORTANT DATES

• The updated kits will be physically available at the Caterpillar distribution centers during the third quarter of 2013. At that time, updated pricing will be available in the parts ordering systems reflecting the changes. Also, the updated brochure will be available on catmarinesupport.com and, dealer.cat.com/catmarinesupport

• Any existing kits bought between today's date and 1July 2013 will include the additional parts listed above. If these parts are not used or stocked, then contact your local PSSR, as special merchandising programs may apply.

Note: Foundational Top End Overhaul kit part numbers remain the same, but Foundational Major Overhaul kit numbers will change. Consult SIS WEB and/or refer to the new brochure.
