Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.
Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Note: Lubricate O-rings and seals with lubricant used while in operation.

- Install seal (21) into shaft housing (2) .

- Use a suitable press and tooling to install race and bearing cone (23) on the motor end of shaft (20). Install race and bearing cone (24) on the impeller end of the shaft.
Note: The motor end of shaft (20) has splines. The impeller end of the shaft is threaded.
- Pack bearings (23) and (24) with Tool (F). Apply Tool (F) to all surfaces of shaft (20) that contacts the seals.

- Apply Tool (H) to the threads of bolt (4). Install four bolts (17) .
- Tighten bolts (17) to a torque of 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

- Apply a thin layer of Tool (G) to the inside edge of shaft sleeve (16). Install the shaft sleeve on shaft (20) .
Note: Rotate shaft sleeve (16) at least twice before seated to shoulder of shaft (20) .
Note: Follow all install instructions supplied with Tool (G) and the replacement shaft sleeve (16) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force. |

- Use Tool (C) to install snap ring (8) on shaft (20) .

- Attach Tool (B) to shaft (20). Secure Tool (B) to prevent the shaft from rotating.
- Install impeller (7) .
Note: Impeller (7) rotates on shaft (20) clockwise. Quickly rotate the impeller by hand. Continue rotating the impeller until the impeller seats.
- Apply Tool (H) to the threads of bolt (4) .
- Install one spacer (6), one washer (5), and one bolt (4) .
- Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

- Install shaft housing (2) onto impeller housing (3) .
Note: O-ring between the shaft housing (2) and the impeller housing (3) .
Note: Use a suitable lifting device to lift shaft housing (2). The shaft housing weighs approximately 88 kg (195 lb).
Note: Use a suitable lifting device to move impeller housing (3). The impeller housing weighs approximately 58 kg (127 lb).

- Apply Tool (H) to the threads of bolts (2). Fasten 12 bolts (2) .
- Tighten 12 bolts (2) to a torque of 136 N·m (100 lb ft).
Note: Use a suitable lifting device to move the water pump. The water pump weighs approximately 146 kg (322 lb).
