An Improved Coupler is Used on Certain Petroleum Transmissions {3252}

- TH55FT-E70 (S/N: PCJ1-UP)
Description of Change: A new coupling assembly is used on certain TH48-E80 and TH55FT-E70 Petroleum Transmissions.The new coupling is used on 2250 hp TH48-E80 and 2500 hp TH55-E70 applications. The new 371-8459 Coupling As is designed to better handle reverse torque loads caused by instability.
Adaptable To: The 284-9291 Coupling As has been canceled and replaced by the new 371-8459 Coupling As in all applications.
Note: The 343-8968 Transmission Ar and 351-3169 Transmission Ar for the TH55-E70 Petroleum Transmission are for 3000 hp applications. These transmission arrangements will continue to use the 357-6672 Coupling As.
