Installation Procedure of International Protection Rating (IP32) for the UPSB505{4480}

Introduction

This Special Instruction provides installation procedure for mounting the International Protection (IP32) forUninterruptible Power Supply and Auxiliary/Battery Cabinets.

Use only proper tools and observe all precautions that pertain to the use of those tools. Failure to follow these procedures can result in personal injury. The following procedures should also be observed.

Verify that the equipment is not energized before performing any maintenance. This work must be performed by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures.

Moisture can create paths of electrical conductivity.

Make sure that the electrical system is OFF. Lock out the starting controls and tag the controls "DO NOT OPERATE".

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

  1. Install the protection cover (1) above the UPS.

  1. Install the spacers. The three longer spacers (2) must be positioned toward the front side of the cabinet and three smaller spacers (3) must be positioned toward rear side of the cabinet as shown in Illustration 2.

  1. Install the side deflectors (4) .

    Note: For 500KVA modules, after you complete the Step 3 follow Step 6 through Step 8.

  1. Install the roof (5) .

  1. Install the rubber bushes (6) .

    Note: Step 6 through Step 8 are specific for 500KVA UPS only.

  1. Install the spacers (7) to the additional cabinet as shown in Illustration 6.

  1. Install the additional deflector (8) to the cabinet as shown in Illustration 6.

  1. Install the roof (9) and rubber bushes (10) as shown in Illustration 7.
