New 3161 Marine Governor Provides Better Low Idle Stability{1264}
Usage:
3508 ( 96Y, 69Z ),
3512 ( 50Y, 66Z ),
3516 ( 29Z, 72Z ) Marine Engines
Description of Change: A new 5% fixed droop governor group is used in place of adjustable droop governors. The new governor provides improved stability at low idle rpm and significantly reduces engine rpm "undershoot and overshoot." It also includes components for controlling governor stability when the engine throttle is reduced for maneuvering purposes or emergency reversal purposes.
Adaptable To: The new field replacement 7E4537 Governor Group replaces the former field replacement 9Y2652 Governor Group. The new governor is adaptable to all 3500 Low Speed and High Speed Engines.
Effective serial numbers for the new governor are:
- 3508 HS: 96Y1010
- 3508 LS: 69Z505
- 3512 HS: 50Y854
- 3512 LS: 66Z360
- 3516 HS: 29Z913
- 3516 LS: 72Z392
- 3508 LS: 69Z505
