Always use 6V4876 Molykote Paste Lubricant to prevent galling on bolts for connecting rods, main bearing caps, and counterweights. If 6V4876 Lubricant is not available, use Fel-Pro C100 Lubricant. Field testing shows these two products help prevent galling on the underside of the bolt head and its mating surface. DO NOT USE 2P2506 Thread Lubricant. Galling causes bolts to be incorrectly tightened and may result in inadequate clamping force.
