Brake Accumulator - Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the brake accumulators. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Accumulator - Remove".
- Remove two bolts (1) and protector (2). Remove the cap from gas valve (3) .

- Release the pressure from the brake accumulator.
- Remove valve assembly (3). Remove the O-ring seal from valve assembly (3) .
- Install suitable pins or bolts in end cap (4). Remove end cap (4) by using a long bar to work against the pins. Remove O-ring seal (5) and the backup ring from the end cap.
Note: Always remove cap (4) at the gas end before removing cap (11) at the hydraulic end.
- Install suitable pins or bolts in end cap (11). Remove end cap (11) by using a long bar to work against the pins. Remove O-ring seal (10) and the backup ring from the end cap.
- Remove piston (9) from the brake accumulator by pushing the piston from the hydraulic end with a suitable bar.
Note: Do not remove the piston by applying compressed air.
- Remove V-ring seal (7) and the backup rings from piston (9). Remove two Teflon piston rings (6) and (8) .
