Start By:
- Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
- Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

NOTICE |
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

At operating temperature the implement hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system before hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed. |

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Cap all lines, all hoses, and all tubes and plug all lines, all hoses, and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

- Use two persons to remove lower grill (1) from the radiator guard. The weight of the lower grill is 25 kg (55 lb).

- Use two persons to remove upper grill (2) from the radiator guard. The weight of the upper grill is 25 kg (55 lb).

- Install Tooling (A) on the radiator access cover (3) .
- Attach a hoist and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (A) .
- Remove four bolts (4) that secure radiator access cover (3) to the radiator guard.
- Use a hoist to remove radiator access cover (3). The weight of the radiator access cover is 79 kg (175 lb).

- Disconnect hose assemblies (6) from fan drive motor (5) .
- Remove clamps (7) and place hose assemblies (6) aside.

- Remove two center fan guard assemblies (8) .
- Remove lower fan guard assembly (9) .

- Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to the fan drive motor, as shown.
Note: The fan motor support will move outward when bolts (10) are removed.
- Carefully remove bolts (10) that fasten fan drive assembly (11) to the radiator guard assembly.

- Carefully remove fan drive assembly (11). The weight of the fan drive assembly is 245 kg (540 lb).

- Remove two bolts that secure baffle assembly (12) to the top of radiator shroud (13) and the radiator guard.
- Remove baffle assembly (12) .

- Remove the bolts that secure baffles (14) to the side of radiator shroud (13) .
- Remove baffles (14) from the radiator guard assembly.
- Remove the bolts that are across the bottom of radiator shroud (13) .
Note: The bolts are not shown in the above illustration.
- Remove the bolts that secure the side baffles for the radiator core to radiator shroud (13) .

- Remove upper fan guard assembly (15) .

Right Side Lower Mounting Bracket |
- Remove the bolts that secure four mounting brackets (16) to the radiator guard. The mounting brackets are for the radiator shroud.

- Attach a hoist and suitable lifting slings to radiator shroud (13). Carefully remove radiator shroud (13). The weight of the radiator shroud is 68 kg (150 lb).
