Usage:
Damper Adjustment:
To adjust damper assemblies, loosen bolts (D, E, F, G) which hold damper assemblies to radiator support and at the same time tighten setscrews (1 through 12) until damper assemblies are in contact with cores.
Tighten each setscrew (1 through 12) two turns in number order to get preload on dampers.
To get the correct damper compression, tighten setscrews (1 through 12) in number order until gauge pins A (three), B (three), and C (three) are even with the back face of the dampers. Then tighten retaining bolts (D, E, F, G).
Do this again for the damper assemblies on the other side of the radiator.
Tighten bolts that hold strips and baffles to 18 ± 5 lb. ft. (24 ± 7 N·m)
(13) Torque for stud for the filler cap ... 40 ± 5 lb. ft.(55 ± 7 N·m)
(14) 5S1218 Pressure relief valve
Pressure valve must not leak at 14 psi (95 kPa)
Pressure valve must be open at 18 psi (125 kPa)
Maximum vacuum necessary to make relief valve open ... 1 psi(7 kPa) or ... 27.7 in. H2O(704 mm H2O) or ... 2.04 in. Hg(51.8 mm Hg)
