Rocker Shaft - Assemble - 3003 Engines

Assembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Lubricate all of the components with clean engine oil.

    (1) Plug

    (2) Rocker shaft

    (3) Rocker arm

    (4) Rocker shaft bracket

    (5) Rocker arm

    (6) Washer

    (7) Spring

    (8) Washer

    (9) Pin

  1. Install washer (8) and spring (7) on rocker shaft (2) .

  1. Install washer (6) and rocker arm (5) on rocker shaft (2) .

  1. Install rocker shaft bracket (4) and rocker arm (3) on rocker shaft (2) .

  1. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 in order to install the remaining components.

  1. Install plug (1) in the end of rocker shaft (2) .

    Note: The oil holes in rocker shaft bracket (4) and the oil holes in the cylinder head are aligned by pin (9) .

End By: Install the rocker shaft assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Install".
