NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4529" as Part Number, "7755" as Group Number, and "96" as Description Code.

Oil may leak from the cover of the travel drive motor on certain E110B Excavators.

Refer to the Service Manual and the following steps to replace the travel drive motor cover and o-ring seal.
Cover Removal
1. Remove plug (2) from housing (3).
2. Install two eyebolts in cover (4) where plugs (1) were removed. Use a bar and the eyebolts to turn the cover. Turn the cover until wire (6) is visible through the hole where plug (2) was removed.
3. Pull the end of the wire through the hole. Completely remove the wire while slowly rotating cover (4).
4. Remove the eyebolts from cover (4). Using forcing screws in the holes where the eyebolts were just removed to remove the cover. Remove cover (4) from housing (3).
Cover Installation
1. Install the new 1R6543 O-ring on the new 1R8935 Cover.
2. Align the U-groove in cover (4) with the hole for plug (2). Install cover (4) on housing (3) while keeping the hole and U-groove in alignment.
3. Bend wire (6) at a 90 Degree angle 8 mm from the end. Insert the bent end of the wire, through hole (2) in housing (3), into the u-groove in cover (4). Turn the cover until the wire is coiled into the housing. Be careful not to cause the O-ring to be damaged while rotating the cover.
4. Fill with oil and install the plugs. Make all necessary checks and adjustments before returning the machine to service.
Service Claim Allowances
NOTE: This is a 5-hour job.
Parts Disposition
Any parts removed (with the exception of cores used for Caterpillar Remanufactured parts) can be rendered useless and scrapped immediately upon completion of the repair.
