Parts Disposition
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. Rework Procedure Inspect the track roller frame as shown below. If the plate is bent the roller frame will be distorted at the welded portion. See Illustration 1. Measure how much the supporting plate is bent as shown in Illustration 2. Separate both of the tracks and move them back to clear the roller frames. 3. Remove the idle wheels, recoil springs, and the tension adjuster cylinders. 4. Remove the center track guard and the forth and fifth rollers from the idler end of the roller frame. 5. Raise the excavator so that the roller frames are approximately 1 m (3.28') off the ground. Securely support the entire machine using appropriate blocks or jack stands. 6. Weld two additional rib plates to each roller frame as shown in Illustration 3. Use E7016 Weld Rod. See the Illustrations on Pages 3 through 5 for E300 and E300B Excavators or see the Illustrations on Pages 6 through 8 for EL300 and EL300B Excavators. ****** IMAGE: SEBE4529.00001.003 CAPTION: Illustration 3 - Location of Additional Rib Plates NOTE: The maximum gap between the supporting plate and the rib plates should be less than 5 mm. In case the supporting plate is bent badly, 5 mm or more, trim the front edge of the rib plates so that they conform to the supporting plates. When the supporting plate is bent, weld the reinforcement plates to each track roller frame as shown in the Illustrations on Pages 3 through 5 for E300 and E300B Excavators or see the Illustrations on Pages 6 through 8 for EL300 and EL300B Excavators. Use E7016 weld rod. (Omit this step if the plate is not bent.) 8. Clean and paint the plates and welds. 9. Remove the recoil springs from the idler wheels and install the new springs. 10. Install the tension adjuster cylinders and idler wheels together with the new springs. 11. Install the rollers and track guards.
