(1) Stud

1. Put 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound on the last 10.2 ± 1.5 mm (0.40 ± 0.06 inch) of the threads at the base end of the studs.

2. Tighten the filter element studs in the filter bases to the following torque.

   Torque for stud ... 80 ± 14 N·m (60 ± 10 lb ft)

(2) Oil filters

1. Put clean engine oil on the filter seals.

2. Put filters (2) in position and tighten the filters until the seals make contact with the bases.

3. Turn the filters by an additional 360 degrees.

(3) 7G-6713 Spring

Length under test force ... 57.2 mm (2.25 inch)

Test force ... 109 ± 5 N (24.5 ± 1.1 lb)

Free length after test ... 99.7 mm (3.93 inch)

Outside diameter ... 21.23 mm (.836 inch)

Color code (stripes) ... one light blue stripe

(4) Bypass valve

The oil filter bypass valves must start to open at the following pressure difference: ... 203 ± 20 kPa (33 ± 3 psi)
