Note: Use 6V-4876 Lubricant on the bolt threads.

The tightening sequence for the cylinder head bolts follows:

1. Tighten bolts (1) through (20) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 280 ± 27 N·m (207 ± 20 lb ft)

2. Again tighten bolts (1) through (20) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 440 ± 20 N·m (325 ± 15 lb ft)

3. Finally tighten bolts (1) through (20) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 440 ± 20 N·m (325 ± 15 lb ft)

4. Install the rocker arms.

5. Tighten bolts (21) through (26) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 280 ± 27 N·m (207 ± 20 lb ft)

6. Again tighten bolts (21) through (26) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 440 ± 20 N·m (325 ± 15 lb ft)

7. Finally tighten bolts (21) through (26) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 440 ± 20 N·m (325 ± 15 lb ft)

8. Tighten bolts (27) through (39) in a numerical sequence.

   Torque for bolts ... 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft)

(40) Tighten the exhaust manifold studs that are in each cylinder head to the following torque. ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)

(41) Height of new cylinder head ... 112.78 ± .25 mm (4.440 ± 0.010 inch)

(42) The plugs are installed into the cylinder head at the following depth. ... 4.3 ± 0.8 mm (0.17 ± 0.03 inch)
