VIMSpc Software

Usage:

990K A9P
Cat® VIMSpc software is a stand-alone replacement for all versions of the following software programs:

  • VIMSpc software

  • Information System Builder

  • Caterpillar® Common Services System

VIMSpc is an optional Windows based software program used to analyze data that is recorded by VIMSTM Network Manager. The data is used for the following:

  • Analyze current problems

  • Examine machine history

  • Identify potential problems

The User Manual, "VIMSpc" is included on the VIMSpc distribution CD.

Note: Use the most recent version of VIMSpc. The most recent version of VIMSpc and the most recent version of VIMSpc User Manual can be found at: https://mining.cat.com/VIMS.

Data for the machine is recorded in the VIMS Network Manager on-board memory. The information is organized into categories and is used to analyze machine problems. The information is typically used later by technicians or management.

VIMSpc Software and the Cat® Production Measurement Application

VIMSpc software has combined the functionality of the Information System Builder and the VIMSpc software into one application.

To use VIMSpc, follow these steps:

  1. Connect VIMSpc.

  2. Press the "PC" option on the left-side menu.

The Product Link menu shows the following menu items:

Systems Information page

The System Information Screen shows the following information about the machine:

Software Part Number - The flash file currently installed in the ECM.

Config-File Part Number - The configuration file currently installed in the ECM, if applicable.

Customer Config Description - A description of the customer config, if applicable.

Hardware Part Number - The part number and revision level of the ECM.

Model Code - The machine model, or "PL522" if a PL522 module is equipped.

Product ID - The machine serial number.

Equipment Number - The name the machine will appear as in VisionLink®. VisionLink is a trademark of Trimble Navigation Limited, registered in the United States and in other countries.

Date - The current date as reported by the ECM.

Time (Local) - The current time as reported by the ECM.

SMH - Current service meter hours of the machine.

Real Time Parameters

Choose from the list of parameters on the left side of the screen. The information for the selected parameter will appear on the screen.

Communicator

  1. Determine a report time by entering a preferred time in the "hours-hh" and "minutes-mm" fields.

  2. Determine the report parameters by toggling between "Enabled" and "Disabled" in the box next to each parameter ("Schedule" column).

  3. Press the Apply button on the bottom of the screen to set the selections.

  1. For each file to be downloaded, click the adjacent box in the Download column.

  2. Press the Apply button on the bottom of the screen to download the file(s).

Lists

The Lists screen has the following four tabs:

  • Truck List

  • Material List

  • Delay Code List

  • Load Site List

Truck List screen

Truck List - Each truck in the list has the following four editable parameters:

  • ID (Displayed to Operator)

  • Model

  • Type

  • Target Weight (Displayed to Operator)

  1. Use the curser to place an "X" in the Remove Box for each line (truck) to be removed. Press the red "-" box on the bottom of the page. The selected line(s) will no longer be visible on the screen.

  2. Press the Cancel button on the bottom of the screen to cancel the removal. The selected item(s) will become visible again.

  3. Press the Apply button on the bottom of the screen to permanently remove the selected item(s).

  1. Press the "+" button on the bottom of the page. An unpopulated line will appear.

  2. Populate each field in the new line.

  3. Press the Apply button on the bottom of the screen to add the new line(s).

  4. Press the Cancel button on the bottom of the screen to cancel the addition. The new line(s) will disappear and will not be added.

Delay Code Settings include:

  • Auto Delay

  • Key Off

  • Key On

  • Production

  • Lunch

  • Break

  • Refueling

  • Mechanical

  • Blast

  • Weather

  1. Press and highlight the Enable SiteComm tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Press the Apply button on the bottom of the screen. The text on the Enable SiteComm tab will change to "Enabled". A check mark will appear next to the "Enabled" text showing that SiteComm is enabled.

  1. Press and highlight the Disable SiteComm tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Press the Apply button on the bottom of the screen. The text on the Disable SiteComm tab will change to "Disabled". A check mark will appear next to the "Disabled" text showing that SiteComm is disabled.

Printer Web Configuration

  1. To access the Printer Web Configuration page, press "Printer Web Configuration" on the Settings drop-down menu.

  2. To retrieve printer configuration, press the Yes button from the pop-up menu box. The Printer Web Configuration page will appear.
