Usage:

CW-16 N6J

------ WARNING! ------

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.

Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.

The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.

Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.

Introduction

Varying hydraulic oil temperatures or abnormal vacuum pressure in the hydraulic system may indicate a plugged hydraulic tank breather. Perform this procedure to test the condition of the hydraulic oil breather.

Test Preparation

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

  2. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

  3. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  6. Move hood support bracket (6) to support engine hood (4).

Test Procedure

    Illustration 5g06019512

  1. Slowly remove cap (7) from the hydraulic tank. Listen for escaping pressure. The cap is not vented.

  2. Install cap (7).

  3. If there was no pressure in the hydraulic tank, go to Step 4. If there was pressure in the hydraulic tank, go to "Adjustment Procedure".

  4. Move hood support bracket (6) in the stored position. Close engine hood (4) and secure latch (5).

Adjustment Procedure

    Illustration 7g06019520

  1. If there was pressure in the hydraulic tank, replace breather (8).

  2. Go to "Test Procedure" and retest system pressure.
