The ECM responds to decisions by sending electrical signals to the outputs. The outputs can create an action or the outputs can provide information to the operator or the service technician.
Proportionally remote-controlled solenoids, with enclosed spool-ends EC/ECS electro-hydraulic spool actuator. The EC/ECS are proportional, electro-hydraulically controlled spool actuators with spring centering to neutral. The solenoids are controlled remotely by the control system. Pilot-pressure oil is led to the spool actuators through internal ducts in the directional valve.
Proportional solenoids in the implement control valve control the flow of pilot oil to valve spools. When a function is activated, the ECM sends current to the solenoids. The amount of current controls the amount of pilot oil that will flow to the valve spool.

The current that flows from the ECM to the proportional solenoids is like a sine wave. The sine wave allows the solenoid to vibrate in position. The vibration prevents the solenoid from sticking in a position.
The IQAN control system uses CAN-buses to communicate between IQAN modules, and other systems. The CAN-bus is a robust communication protocol. The buses were configured using IQAN software to SAE J1939 defined CAN protocol. The Master Controller and Monitor (MD3) has 3 CAN buses; MD3 CAN-A, MD3 CAN-B, MD3 CAN-C. Electronic control module 4 (MC2) has a separate CAN bus, MC2 CAN-B. A personal computer with IQANrun software installed will allow communication with the IQAN machine control system for diagnostic and troubleshooting.
