The hydraulic oil cooler (4) is an oil-to-air type cooler and is located in front of the engine. The hydraulic oil cooler is located in the middle of the cooling module, in between the ATAAC and engine coolant radiator. The hydraulically driven cooling fan provides the air flow for the hydraulic oil cooler.

Return oil from the main control valves passes through both anti-cavitation manifolds (2) and (3). Only the oil that passed through cooler anti-cavitation manifold (3) will flow through hydraulic oil cooler (4).
For more information regarding the anti-cavitation manifolds, refer to Systems Operation, "Check Valve (Return Makeup)".
The hydraulic oil is cooled by hydraulic oil cooler (4), combines with oil from the tank anti-cavitation manifold (2), then flows to hydraulic tank (5) after passing through return filters (1). If hydraulic oil cooler (4) becomes restricted, oil will flow through bypass valve (8) once the pressure overcomes the spring force of the bypass valve.
For more information regarding the return filters, refer to Systems Operation, "Hydraulic Tank and Filter" and Systems Operation, "Bypass Valve (Return)".
