Description of Change: The new engine wire harness and mounting hardware are used to help prevent rubbing or interference with other components on the engine.

Adaptable To: The new 419-0841 Engine Harness As is a direct replacement for the existing 215-3249 Engine Harness As. This change is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.

Note: Only replace the old harness after harness failure has occurred.This change is effective for the engine serial numbers listed in the table.

Replacement Procedure

(1) 419-0841 Engine Harness As (2) Five places 439-4571 Clip (3) Five places 440-0881 Bolt (4) 6V-4369 Clip

1. Remove the old 215-3249 Engine Harness As .

2. Put the new 419-0841 Engine Harness As (1) in place.

3. Mount the new clips (2) as shown in Illustration 1.

4. Align the white paint on the harness to center of the clip.

5. Tighten the 440-0881 Bolt (3) to 22 + 5 - 0 N·m (16 + 4 - 0 lb ft).

6. Assemble all six Ampseal connectors with the red latch in the forward position (latched).

7. Verify that the wires are seated in the connector with a pull of 10 ± 2 N (2 ± 0.4 lb) on each wire.

8. Mount the 6V-4369 Clip (4) to the harness as shown in Illustration 1.

9. Tighten the bolt to 12 ± 3 N·m (9 ± 2 lb ft).
