Valve Covers
Usage:
Remove & Install Valve Covers
NOTE: The removal & installation of the valve covers on the 3408 and 3412 Industrial Engines are similar so only one will be shown.
1. Remove seven bolts (1).
2. Remove valve cover (2).
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the valve covers.
3. Make sure the seal is in position on the valve cover. Install valve cover (2).
4. Install seven bolts (1).
5. Use the tightening sequence above to tighten the bolts on the 3408 Industrial Engine valve covers to a torque of 14 ± 4 N·m (10 ± 3 lb ft).
6. Use the tightening sequence above to tighten the bolts on the 3412 Industrial Engine valve covers to a torque of 14 ± 4 N·m (10 ± 3 lb ft).
