Hydraulic oil tank (1) is located on the front of the right fender of the machine.
Hydraulic oil tank (1) is sealed in order to prevent contamination to the hydraulic oil. Main suction port (6) supplies hydraulic oil to the main hydraulic pump. The suction port for the counterweight (9) supplies hydraulic oil to the pump for the counterweight. Oil flows from the hydraulic components into hydraulic oil tank (1) through four passages.
Passage (7) collects implement return oil that drains through the boom and hook control valve. Oil from passage (7) flows into hydraulic oil tank (1) through implement return oil filter (5). Implement return oil filter (5) stops any debris that is in the hydraulic oil.
Passage (8) collects oil from the return manifold. Oil from passage (8) flows into hydraulic oil tank (1) through the filter for the return manifold (3). The filter for the Return manifold (3) stops any debris that is in the hydraulic oil.
Passage (10) collects the case drain from the boom and hook control valve. Oil from passage (10) flows directly into hydraulic oil tank (1) .
Passage (11) collects the drained oil from the two-speed valve. Oil from passage (11) flows directly into hydraulic oil tank (1) .

The filter for the return manifold is located within the hydraulic oil tank. The filter removes debris from the hydraulic oil that returns through return port (8) .
Hydraulic oil flows through filter base (17) into cavity (14). Then, oil flows through filter element (13) and back to hydraulic oil tank (1). Filter element (13) stops any debris that is in the hydraulic oil.
If filter element (13) becomes full of debris, the restriction to the flow of oil causes a pressure increase inside filter element (13). The pressure of the oil causes filter bypass valve (16) to move against spring (15). Unfiltered oil is allowed to pass through bypass valve (16) and flow directly into hydraulic oil tank (1). Unfiltered oil can cause damage to components in the hydraulic system.
Correct maintenance procedures must be followed in order to ensure that the filter element does not become full of debris which will stop the flow of clean oil to the hydraulic tank.

The implement return oil filter is located within the hydraulic oil tank. The implement return oil filter removes debris from the hydraulic oil that returns through implement return port (7) .
Hydraulic oil flows through filter base (22) into cavity (19). Then, oil flows through filter element (18) and back to hydraulic oil tank (1). Filter element (18) stops any debris that is in the hydraulic oil.
If filter element (18) becomes full of debris, the restriction to the flow of oil causes a pressure increase inside filter element (18). The pressure of the oil causes filter bypass valve (21) to move against spring (20). Unfiltered oil is allowed to pass through bypass valve (21) and flow directly into hydraulic oil tank (1). Unfiltered oil can cause damage to components in the hydraulic system.
Correct maintenance procedures must be followed in order to ensure that the filter element does not become full of debris which will stop the flow of clean oil to the hydraulic tank.
