The crown control adjusts the screed in order to produce the contour that is desired of the finished pavement. Power crown control (1) is located in the right screed control box. Move the switch upward in order to increase the crown. Move the switch downward in order to decrease the crown.
When crown control (1) is in the center position, the electrical circuit to the motor assembly is opened and the crowning mechanism remains stationary.
When crown control (1) is in the INCREASE or DECREASE positions, the electrical circuit to the motor assembly is closed. The motor assembly rotates the shaft of the crowning mechanism clockwise or counterclockwise in order to produce the desired contour of the finished pavement.
