Accelerator Pedal

Usage:

574B CZZ

Illustration 1g00871723

There are two accelerator pedals that are inside the cab. One pedal is located at the front of the cab. One pedal is located at the rear of the cab.

The accelerator pedal controls the ground speed of the machine when a travel direction has been selected. The accelerator pedal will only allow the machine to travel as fast as the setting of the machine speed control.

Illustration 2g00927482

Both accelerator pedals allow the power train pump and the engine governor to be controlled proportionally.

When you first move the accelerator pedal from the START position, no voltage flows from the pedal to the IQAN. If you move the pedal slightly more the "minimum voltage" (B) will flow from the pedal to the IQAN.

The "minimum current" should be adjusted so that the machine does not move during the initial output from the accelerator pedal. When the accelerator pedal is pushed slightly more the machine should begin to move.

If the "minimum current" is too low, the accelerator pedal must be moved excessively in order to begin the movement of the machine. If the "minimum current" is too high, the machine will jump when you move the accelerator pedal from the neutral position.

When the accelerator pedal reaches the end of travel, the maximum current will flow from the accelerator pedal. The "maximum current" should be adjusted so that the maximum speed of the machine corresponds to maximum travel of the accelerator pedal.

If the maximum current is set too high, the accelerator pedal will not move all the way to reach maximum speed. If the maximum current is set too low, the machine will not move at maximum speed.

In Illustration 2, line (C) shows the "minimum current" and "maximum current" set too high. This causes the function to jump when you move the accelerator pedal. This also causes the function to reach maximum speed before the accelerator pedal reaches the end of travel.
