Note: The opening for the clamp assembly (1) must be aligned with the slots in the rod (2) for the steering link, as shown.

(3) Torque for nut ... 583 ± 27 N·m (430 ± 20 lb ft)

Thickness ... 1.0 mm (0.04 inch)
Clearance between the top side of the steering arm and the frame ... 0.7 ± 0.6 mm (0.03 ± 0.02 inch)

Note: As needed, use shims (4) between the bottom side of the center arm and the frame.

Reference: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Center Arm (Steering) - Adjust" for the procedure to determine the amount of shims and for the installation procedure.

Section D-D

Note: Use 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound in order to lubricate the components. Lubricate the taper and the threads of the ball studs. Also, lubricate the washer face of the nuts.

(5) Torque for the four nuts that are located on the ball studs (6) of the cylinder mounting ... 2550 ± 100 N·m (1881 ± 74 lb ft)

Section F-F

Note: Use 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound in order to lubricate the components. Lubricate the taper and the threads of the ball joint studs. Also, lubricate the washer face of the nuts.

(7) Torque for four nuts that are located on the ball studs (9) of the steering linkage ... 2550 ± 100 N·m (1880 ± 74 lb ft)

(8) Install the dust cover dry.
