Use 6V4805 Valve Seat Extractor Group To Remove Valve Seat Inserts

Usage:

All Caterpillar Engines

The new 6V4805 Valve Seat Extractor Tool Group can be used to remove valve seat inserts on all Caterpillar engines. The new 6V4805 Valve Seat Extractor Tool Group is a direct replacement for the former 9S3080 Puller Group. The former group used a slide hammer and nine extractors that were each limited to one size insert. The new extractors have three steps so that only four extractors are needed for the complete range of Caterpillar valve seat inserts.

The new tool group uses a different method for removal of the inserts, which will prevent damage to the lip of the extractors. To use the tool group, first, put a small groove around the inside of the insert with the grinder. Second, install the extractor on the threaded shaft and make an expansion of the extractor. With the threaded shaft pull the insert from the cylinder head. This method permits the extractor to hold on to the insert tighter. The threaded shaft permits a constant load for gradual removal of the insert. This increases extractor life.
