Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The delayed engine shutdown option is selectable through CAT^® Electronic Technician (ET). But this action is not recommended to cool the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) intake system on the machines listed above.

Solution

Do not change the factory setting of "Disabled" as this may lead the engine to run up to 15 minutes with no chance of emergency shutdown.

The delayed shutdown cooling method is not required as the D-series Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) injector is DEF cooled so that the SCR system will not be damaged.
