Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the high-pressure fuel pump.

Note: Inspect all O-rings, seals, and gaskets for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.

Note: Lubricate O-rings with the fluid being sealed.

1. Disconnect hose assembly (1).

2. Remove four bolts (2) and bracket (3).

3. Remove screen (4).

4. Use two people to remove pump adapter (6). Pump adapter (6) weighs approximately 30 kg (66 lb).

5. Remove seven bolts (5) and pump adapter (6).

6. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove bearing (7) from pump adapter (6). Bearing (7) is not shown.

7. Remove four bolts (8) and cover (9).

8. Remove four bolts (10) and cover (11).

9. Use two people to remove the fuel and auxiliary water pump drive (12). The fuel and auxiliary water pump drive (12) weighs approximately 30 kg (66 lb).

10. Remove fuel and auxiliary water pump drive (12).

11. Remove two bolts (13) and adapter (14).

12. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove bearing (15) from adapter (14). Bearing (15) is not shown.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the fuel and auxiliary water pump drive in the reverse order of removal.
