Process to Perform Encryption Handshake
Process to perform Encryption Handshake between devices for S/W:
A network configuration must be performed prior to Encryption Handshake. If the network configuration is performed or modified after the encryption process, then reperforming the secure encryption process is required. It is required to have information (IP address, Net Mask, and Gateway) regarding each A5:N2 prior to starting the encryption process. Table 6 must be filled out completely prior to starting this process. It is not required to have each device (A5:N2) on the common network to perform the encryption handshake. It is required to have each device (A5:N2) on the common network to "Test" the encryption handshake. This process requires the operator stations to be programmed first, then the machines in the second half.
Illustration 42 | g06340150 |
Configurations diagram |
The number of stations and tractors will vary per site. The purpose of Illustration 42 is to indicate that operator stations need to be configured first.
Round 1 consists of network configurations and site configurations and will begin at station 1. The user will download an XML when finished at station 1. This XML is known as the "Site Config".
The user then moves to each additional device performing the network configuration, uploading the previous XML for encryption handshake, then downloading a new XML.
At the last device of Round 1, an XML will be generated and become known as the public key. The public key is required to be loaded on to each additional device to provide two-way communication. Round 2 will start by downloading the XML from the last machine configured in round 1 and loading the public key onto station 1, then continuing to load the public key to each additional device.
Use Table 6 to identify each A5:N2 on the Network.
