Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure. |
Climbing equipment may be required to access this service point. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Mounting and Dismounting"
|
Note: Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, Refill Capacities and Fluid Recommendations for the amount and recommended coolant.

The pumper is equipped with a jacket water expansion tank with a coolant level gauge (1). Observe the position of the coolant level in the gauge. At normal operating temperature, the proper coolant level is in the upper half of the gauge. If the coolant mixture is low, add the proper coolant mixture.
- Stop the engine. Allow the engine to cool.
- Remove the cooling system filler cap (2) slowly to relieve any pressure. Pour the proper coolant mixture into the filler (2).
