Usage:
NOTE: The crankshaft front seal can be removed with the timing gear cover on the engine or off the engine. However, to install the seal to the correct depth, the timing gear cover must be installed on the engine.
1. Remove the crankshaft front oil seal using the 1P3075 Puller Group.

Install Crankshaft Front Oil Seal
1. Place seal over the short end of the 8S2276 Seal Installer. The lip of the seal must face the inside of the engine when installed. Coat the outer metal shell of the seal with 7F2770 Cement.
NOTE: Engines effective with the following Serial Numbers; 1140 (36B996-up), 1145 (97B2077-up), 1150 (96B1748-up), and the 1160 (95B3833-up). have a new timing gear cover that permits the crankshaft front seal to be installed to two depths. To install the seal to the original depth, use the 8S2276 Seal Installer. To obtain a new seal wear track on the crankshaft, place the 9S6012 Spacer between the seal and the flange of the installer.
2. Place the installer on the crankshaft. Use the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt and washer to pull the seal into place. When the installer bottoms against the crankshaft gear, the seal is in place.

3. Lubricate the lip of seal and the mating surface of crankshaft pulley with clean engine oil (SAE 30) before installing pulley.
