Oil Pan

Usage:

Remove Oil Pan

1. Remove oil from engine and remove covers (1) from each side of oil pan.

2. Remove all the bolts (2) that hold pan to cylinder block, except four bolts, one in each corner of oil pan.

3. Fasten a hoist to engine with lifting beam (A) and remove engine from engine stand. Lower engine to floor until oil pan just makes contact with floor. Weight of engine as shown is 6500 lb. (2925 kg).


NOTICE

Do not put all of engine weight on oil pan.


4. Remove the four bolts from oil pan and lift engine off oil pan. Put engine back on engine stand. Weight of oil pan is 170 lb. (77 kg).

Install Oil Pan

1. Put oil pan (1) on the floor.

2. Fasten a hoist to engine with lifting beam (A) and remove engine from engine stand. Lower engine on to oil pan until bolts can be installed in oil pan. Install four bolts that hold oil pan to cylinder block, one in each corner of pan.


NOTICE

Do not put all of engine weight on oil pan.


3. Put engine back on engine stand. Install all of the oil pan bolts (2).

4. Install cover on each side of oil pan. Fill engine with oil to correct level.
