Camshaft Bearings

Usage:

Remove Camshaft Bearings

start by:

a) remove camshafts

1. Remove two bolts, lock and retaining plate (1) from the rear end of the camshafts.

2. Remove the end plate (2) and five bearing assemblies (3) from the camshafts.

3. Remove two bearings (4) with tooling (A).

4. Remove two bearings (5) with tooling (B).

5. Inspect the camshafts for wear.

Install Camshaft Bearings

1. Install two bearings (1) in the end plate with tooling (A) as shown.

2. Install two bearings (2) in each of the block assemblies with tooling (B) as shown.

3. Put clean engine oil on each bearing.

NOTE: The two camshaft gears must be in alignment with the mark on each gear in its correct position before installation of the first bearing block assembly.

4. Install six bearing block assemblies on the camshaft bearings.

5. Install the end plate assembly (3), retaining plate, lock and bolts.
