Usage:
120G, 130G, 140G, 160G, 12G, 14G, 16G Motor Graders
Description of Change: New cover and tandem groups are used on motor graders. Several improvements have been made to the new groups.
New housings are made of stronger material. Also, the new housings are deeper than the former housings. This will provide more clearance between the drive chain and the bottom of the housings.
A new larger breather is mounted on the inside plate of the housing. This will help prevent pressure from building up inside the housings which could force oil past the oscillation seal. The dipstick used on the former groups has been eliminated. The oil level inside the tandem housing can now be checked by removing plug (6) on the inside plate of the housing. The quantity of oil used in the housings has not changed.
Adaptable To: The new 8W8881 Cover And Tandem Group is direct replacement for the former 8D8830 Cover And Tandem Group on 120G Motor Graders. The new group is in effect with 120G Motor Grader 87V9002. Chart A lists the new components in this new group.

The new 8W8945 Cover And Tandem Group is direct replacement for the former 7D8280 Cover And Tandem Group on 130G, 140G, 160G, and 12G Motor Graders. The new group is in effect with 130G, 140G, 160G, and 12G Motor Graders 74V2448, 72V12131, 4JD151, and 61M13214 respectively. Chart B lists the new components in this new group.
The new 8W8782 Cover And Tandem Group is direct replacement for the former 7D9430 Cover And Tandem Group on 14G Motor Graders. The new group is in effect with 14G Motor Grader 96U7635. Chart C lists the new components in this new group.
The new 8W8710 Cover And Tandem Group is direct replacement for the former 8D1730 Cover And Tandem Group on 16G Motor Graders. The new group is in effect with 16G Motor Grader 93U2934. Chart D lists the new components in this new group.
