Announcement

Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Group announces the availability of additional torque converter arrangements for off-highway trucks.

Coverage

This expansion of the torque converter program gives dealers an additional repair option for servicing customer's torque converter needs. There are no corollary new parts options to the REMAN arrangement, as REMAN torque converters come as a "drop-in" repair option. These REMAN torque converters come with necessary pumps, valves, and case assembly. The chart below gives the new serviced torque converter group for reference only. The referenced new torque converter group is a part of the REMAN arrangement.

Features and Benefits

These torque converters contain the latest critical engineering updates. All REMAN torque converters are bench tested to ensure proper operation at installation.

Core Attrition Policy

These components are administered under the REMAN major component core attritioning policy that became effective January 1, 1998. This policy requires cores to be returned within specific time limits. Failure to return the core within the time limit can result in the loss of the core deposit. See IRM REM97-26, PELE0584 December 1997 and Cat REMAN Newsletter, Issue 16, December 1997 for complete details.

Core Acceptance

Torque converter core inspection is visual, and includes a rotation of the input and output shafts. Please see Core Acceptance Criteria SELD0165 (Transmissions and Torque Converter) for complete details on core acceptance.

Cores should be consolidated with other REMAN Major Components per SELD0039-04 (Shipping Instructions) and shipped to:
