Usage:
Follow pre-start and starting procedures.
Move throttle forward to fast position for maximum engine rpm.
Operate engine at full rpm for maximum steering and propel control response. Operation below full throttle will slow turning rate or propel system response. |
Check steering system operation. Check gauges for normal operation.
Apply foot brake. (If pedal exceeds half travel, do not operate machine.) 6JD1-111
Release parking brake.
- a. Pull up on the parking brake knob to release the parking brake. S/N 6JD112 & up.
- b. Pull back on the parking brake release lever to release the parking brake. S/N 6JD1 - 111.
Raise leveling blade.
Release foot brake. 6JD1-111
Slowly push the propel lever forward to move machine forward, or pull back slowly to move machine in reverse. Control machine speed with this lever. The farther the lever is moved from the "stop" position, the faster the machine will travel. Service braking occurs when the lever is in the center, stop position. (In reverse, the backup alarm should sound.)
NOTICE |
---|
Obtain desired travel speed before engaging the vibratory system. |
Switch vibratory system on. Regulate vpm's below 1800 vpm by reducing engine speed slightly. Observe vpm on vibra-tach.
NOTICE |
---|
Do not operate vibratory system at less than 1100 vpm. |
NOTICE |
---|
Engine governor has been set to run at 2450 to 2600 rpm. This rpm is necessary for optimum vibratory efficiency and should not be raised or lowered. |
Switch vibratory system off to operate machine in static mode.
To lower leveling blade, move blade control lever forward. To raise leveling blade, pull blade control lever back. (Blade control lever is spring loaded to center position.)
NOTICE |
---|
Avoid using the leveling blade as a plow or digging device. Machine damage may occur. |
To place blade in "float" position, move blade control lever all the way forward.
Make sure area under blade is clear before moving handle. Always lower blade when leaving machine. If blade is released on person, maiming injury will result. |
