C175-16 Locomotive Engine Caterpillar

Configuration Parameters

Usage:

C175-16 3B9
Some system configuration parameters can be configured by the customer to suit the customer particular application. The configuration file contains all the adjustable settings for the monitoring system. The engine is shipped from the factory with default values for these parameters. configuration parameters must be reprogrammed if an ECM is replaced and/or the engine rating is reprogrammed. if the flash file is replaced, configuration parameters will not require reprogramming. Proper values for these parameters are available on Cat Electronic Technician (ET). Certain configuration parameters are also stamped on the engine information plate.

If the default settings for the parameters have been modified, there will be no record at the factory of the changes. These settings can be downloaded into a laptop computer and saved to a file. The customer can then use the file to facilitate replacement of the ECM.

Note: Changing the parameters that are protected by factory passwords may cause your Cat warranty to be voided.

Note: For information on configuration parameters refer to the Troubleshooting Manual, UENR2994.
