C175-20 Locomotive Engine Caterpillar

Refill Capacities

Usage:

C175-20 R4F

Lubricant Capacities

The capacity of the engine lubrication system includes the capacity of the oil filters that are installed at the factory. Auxiliary oil filter systems (if equipped) will require more oil. Refer to the specifications that are provided by the OEM of the auxiliary oil filter system.

Table 1
C175-20 Engine Oil Refill Capacities
With oil filter change  757 L (200 US gal)
Without oil filter change  719 L (190 US gal)
Factory fill  795 L (210 US gal)
Volume between "ADD" and "Full" marks on the engine oil level gauge (dipstick).  76 L (20 US gal)

Coolant Capacities

To maintain the cooling system, the total cooling system capacity must be determined. The total cooling system capacity will vary between individual installations. The total cooling system capacity can include the following components (if equipped): engine, expansion tank, heat exchanger, radiator, piping, and other cooling system parts.

Cooling system capacities will be determined by the OEM of the installation. Record total cooling system capacities.
